Epiphone Sheraton
Left Handed (Tobacco Burst)
Semi Acoustic Guitar
Circa - 1996 - With Canadian Hardcase UA-69524413-1 This
is the real deal when it comes to guitars, an Epiphone Sheraton, aged and
played in . . .
Built in 1996, serial number S6066615, Samick Plant, Korea.
Guitars from this time and factory are well known for their high quality and
finish.
Please do not mistake this for the new lesser quality Chinese models.
Built in 1996, this guitar's wood has 19 years of ageing and now has a sound
that literally cannot be replicated.
...thin line hollow maple body with a gorgeous tobacco burst finish, that looks
absolutely stunning against the gold hardware that, to be honest, shows minimal
wear for its age, including gotoh style machine heads and a body binding that's
taken on a lovely buttery colour with age...
This is a gorgeous guitar!
The solid maple block in the centre of the body minimizes feedback, while the
hollow body wings gives sustain, tone and weight. Two Epiphone alnico classic
humbuckers for authentic vintage tone, combined with the aged wood the guitar
sounds really, really beautiful.
The neck is a very comfortable 5 piece walnut and maple neck and it is a dream
to play! I know as I'm left-handed myself and have had the pleasure of playing
this fine instrument for the last couple of weeks, prior to preparing for sale.
In preparation for sale the guitar has
received the following:-
- Frets polished
- Fretboard cleaned, lemon oiled and conditioned
- Restrung on 20/10/2015 with D'Addario 10 gauge strings
- String height set at 2.4mm at 17th fret, Bass side
- 2mm at 17th fret, Treble side
- Correct saddle height adjustment
- Correct neck relief adjustment
- all electrics checked
- all hardware including screws have been removed, cleaned, lightly oiled and
reassembled
- Full body and neck cleaned and polished
Overall I would describe the condition of this guitar to be well above what you
would expect for a guitar that is 19 years old. In fact I would go as far as to
say, that you would be very lucky indeed to find a left handed guitar of this
age that comes anywhere near close to the condition of this guitar. General
playing wear is to be expected, and please keep in mind, the guitar is 19 years
old and has been played, but there is nothing that detracts from the overall
appearance and sound of the guitar. In the run up to Christmas these guitars
will be harder and harder to come by, especially left handed versions. The hardcase,
which was made in Canada and is the same quality as the Gibson hardcases, is
included in the sale and is in good used condition with all latches working as
they should.
You will not be disappointed with this guitar !!
If there is anything I have missed picture wise, please let me know and I will
do my best to add it to the listing.
