Epiphone by Gibson Sheraton - Ref 203

Epiphone by Gibson Sheraton Electric Guitar
Vintage 1987 Korean + Hardcase

Epiphone by Gibson
Semi Acoustic Guitar
Circa - 1987 -
With Hardcase
This is the real deal when it comes to guitars,
an Epiphone by Gibson Sheraton, aged and played in . . .
The Epiphone by Gibson inlaid in the headstock
makes this very, very rare.
Made in 1987 (making this guitar, now officially vintage!), serial number 71011124, Korea.
These "Epiphone by Gibson" Guitars were only made in the legendary Korean plants for 2 years only (1986 - 1988)
Guitars from this time and factory are
well known for their high quality and finish.
Please do not mistake this for the new
lesser quality Chinese models.

Built in 1987, this guitar's wood has 26 years of ageing and now has a sound that literally cannot be replicated.

...thin line hollow maple body with a rich tobacco finish, that looks absolutely stunning against the gold hardware that has worn in all the right places and has given it that lovely naturally aged patina, including gotoh style machine heads and a body binding that's taken on a
lovely creamy colour with age...
This is a gorgeous guitar!

The solid maple block in the centre of the body minimizes feedback, while the hollow body wings gives sustain, tone and weight. Two Epiphone alnico classic humbuckers
for authentic vintage tone, combined with the aged wood
the guitar sounds really, really beautiful.

The neck is a very comfortable 5 piece walnut
and maple neck, it is a dream to play!

In preparation for sale the guitar has received the following:-
- Frets polished
- Fretboard cleaned, lemon oiled and conditioned
- Restrung on 04/12/2013 with 10 gauge Rotosound strings
- String height set at 2.4mm at 17th fret, Bass side
- 2mm at 17th fret, Treble side
- Correct saddle height adjustment
- Correct neck relief adjustment
- all electrics checked
- all hardware including screws have been removed,
cleaned, lightly oiled and reassembled
- Full body and neck cleaned and polished

Overall condition is very good for what is now classed as
a true vintage guitar, i.e. over 25 years old.
I have been lucky enough to have seen a few
Epiphone by Gibson guitars and this is as
good as any that I have seen and better than most,
but please bear in mind that the guitar has been played
and is not a museum piece. General playing wear to be expected but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance and sound of the guitar.
A couple of points of note, there are two scratches to the front of the guitar. One barely noticeable and the other cannot be seen when the guitar is being played.
There is a very small piece of binding missing from
just below the nut. This has probably occurred
when the nut has been replaced at some point.
It does not affect the playing or sound of the guitar.
The hardcase is included with the guitar and
looks to be from the same period/era/time.
It has done it's job over the years but is still perfectly serviceable and will protect the guitar in transit.

If there is anything I have missed picture wise, please
let me know and I will do my best to add it to the listing.

You will not be disappointed with this guitar !!

Any other questions regarding the guitar,
please do not hesitate to ask.
I will endeavour to answer all queries within 2 hours
during working hours or please feel free to
